August 1st, 1985 - November 12th, 2003  

Smoky is a 18 year old short-haired Russian Blue. He loves to play with string, watch birds, and sleep. Smoky also loves attention and to communicate. He will often greet you at the door and tell you how his day went. Smoky has had a hard life. When he was 8 years old his older owner died and he was adopted by a relative of his former owner, but unfortunately they decided they could not keep him so he was given up to the shelter. Jean adopted him in 1994 and now Smoky lives in a stable home that admires him greatly.

Sadly on November 12th 2003 our old friend Smoky left for the great window seat in the sky. He was a good cat. In his waning years we will remember him for his quiet coyness and his unshaken attention to detail. Goodbye Shadow.
